STUFF FROM THE BACK OF THE
DESK DRAWER.
If
anyone doubts that ignorance and apathy are not hard at work in this country,
just read from these clippings. Between
the “don’t know and don’t care syndrome” and stealth jihad, the rate at which
this country is being dumbed-down is astonishing. Fourth grade students in Vermilion Parish, La. were given a homework assignment that
included words like “Po Pimp” and “mobstaz,” but school officials said the
worksheet was age appropriate based on an education website affiliated with
Common Core education standards. The
worksheet, obtained by Fox Radio affiliate KPEL provided contextual examples of
the word “twist.” It included references to tornadoes and the 1950’s dance
craze – the “Twist.” But it also
included a paragraph about “Twista” – a rapper with the group Speedknot Mobstaz
who performs a single titled, “Po-Pimp.”

Here’s two quotes that need to be
read over and over until they sink in:
“No power on
earth has a right to take our property from us without our consent.”—John Jay,
first Chief Justice of the United
States and this one, “How ‘secure’ do our
homes remain if police, armed with no warrant, can pound on doors at will and
forcibly enter?”—Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the lone dissenter
in Kentucky
v. King. If the government can tell you
what you can and cannot do within the privacy of your home, whether it relates
to what you eat, what you smoke or whom you love, you no longer have any rights
whatsoever within your home.
If government officials can fine
and arrest you for growing vegetables in your front yard, praying with friends
in your living room, installing solar panels on your roof, and raising chickens
in your backyard, you’re no longer the owner of your property. If school
officials can punish your children for what they do or say while at home or in
your care, your children are not your own—they are the property of the state. This is what a world without the Fourth
Amendment looks like, where the lines between private and public property have
been so blurred that private property is reduced to little more than something
the government can use to control, manipulate and harass you to suit its own
purposes, and you the homeowner and citizen have been reduced to little more
than a tenant or serf in bondage to an inflexible landlord. That’s the thoughts of John W. Whitehead,
writing in Western Journalism on December 9, 2013.
About this time last year the
governor of Michigan(istan) wanted to issue or
have issued, visas to “immigrants” who would move to Detroit and stay there at least five
years. The Republican governor has
routinely touted immigration as a powerful potential force for growing Detroit's economy, saying
immigrant entrepreneurs start many small businesses and file patents at twice
the rate of U.S.-born citizens. The
proposal involves EB-2 visas, which are offered every year to legal immigrants
who have advanced degrees or show exceptional ability in certain fields. But the governor's ambitious plan faces
significant hurdles: The visas are not currently allocated by region or state.
And the number he is seeking — 50,000 over five years — would be a quarter of
the total EB-2 visas offered. The
governor's proposal seemed to take officials by surprise at the State
Department, which works with the Homeland Security Department to decide on visa
requests. That was in CNS News, January

Suppose you saw a young person
destroying a memorial, what would you do?
I know what I’d do, but that’s for another day. The Daily Caller, on August 12, 2013
reported that such an event had taken place.
Bobby Soave wrote this about that. Protesters at Middlebury
College in Vermont uprooted 2,977 flags that were part
of a 9/11 memorial display. The flags
symbolize each of the 2,977 people who died in the terrorist attacks on
September 11th, 2001. The College Republicans and Democrats have jointly
planted the flags in a field on campus every year for the last decade.
But this year, Ben Kinney, president of the College Republicans, happened to be walking by the display as 5
protesters finished removing the last of the flags and placing them in trash
bags. “At first, I thought the group
was comprised of College Democrats helping put the flags away before the rain
rolled in, but then I realized what they were doing,” said Kinney in a
statement to The Middlebury Campus. The
protesters, at least one of whom was a student , explained that they were
“confiscating” the flags in order to take a stand against U.S.
imperialism. The college condemned the
act of vandalism in a statement to The Daily Caller.
It does seem to me that in
the dumbing-down process the generations coming after mine are losing not just
patriotism, and general knowledge, but the will to be individuals that think
for themselves is being sapped. Maybe
I’ll have to agree with Gruber…Americans are stupid…aren’t we?
